200 HOUR YOGA TEACHER TRAINING: KIND WORDS FROM MY GRADUATES.

I ASKED MY GRADUATES THREE QUESTIONS:

#1 Which topic was the most valuable for you?

● Learning your sequencing approach makes planning a class so simple but so effective.

● The information about meditation was hugely beneficial for me - especially the science behind it. It’s certainly a path I want to explore in the future.

● Learning how to adapt asanas with different props and try new positions and variations.

● I had no idea about the history of yoga, so it was really interesting learning it.

● Learning about the mindbody connection and how so many things are linked together.

● Learning about how pain works was really cool.

● I really liked that we could try teaching from the very beginning.

● Planning classes using the prana vayus and elements.

● How to live yoga outside of the mat. It’s expanded the practice so much.

#2 What is the most important piece of information you’ll take with you?

● There is no perfect way to perform an asana. Each of us will have our own way of doing it according to our individual anatomy and intention.

● To have an intention for my personal practice and when I plan a class. There is so much to focus on it helps to have one specific goal or thread to follow.

● The training really highlighted how the practice is truly a personal experience and yoga should (and can) be accessible to everyone.

● Everything about yoga philosophy - I loved it.

● Yoga alignment is not black and white. There is no right or wrong, but depending on what you want to achieve, one alignment may be more optimal than another.

● Yoga is as much off the mat as is it on the mat.

● Yoga props are fun. I used to hate props and thought they were unnecessary at best and cumbersome at worst. Now I think: “Why don't they have bolsters and blankets - annoying!"

● How to sequence classes in a logical way. You were right - it takes me less than 10 minutes now.

● The sequencing module was so practical and made preparing a class so much easier (and fun).

● How to make yoga more accessible and inclusive.

● Yoga philosophy, because I could learn so much about myself during this part of the training.

#3 What was your highlight or favourite part of the training?

● The amazing bond we had as a group.

● The highlight was when I experienced all my colleagues teaching, and when I could teach myself. I was amazed by the quality of each class and how they were all so different.

● When all the parts we learned came together and the result was stunning.

● Teaching my first yoga class was an incredible feeling that I will remember forever.

● It was actually after the training finished and I realised how much of an impact it’s had on my normal life.

● I really loved the morning asana classes that were always linked to the topic we were discussing that day. That was really well planned and helped us to learn.

● Bringing all the individual things together and seeing how things connect.

● Teaching everyone the exam class - I was so scared but I loved it.
